With spring here (finally!), I find myself remembering April visits to the English Cotswolds. I couldn’t help but be inspired to write what became Thief’s Mark. It’s an incredibly part of the world, the perfect place for us to find mysterious, enigmatic Oliver York and his farm.

I didn’t expect our Cotswold visits to inspire a new tale but I’m glad they did. It was such fun learning more about this historic part of the UK. Since then the entertaining and informative Clarkson’s Farm has introduced many of us to the Cotswolds and its stunning scenery, as well as to the real-life joys and challenges of farming and, now, pubs.

I loved walking on quiet lanes along picturesque fields and hedgerows and stopping at atmospheric village pubs. It was at a hectic time in my life and I appreciate the warmth and welcoming spirit of the people we met. I look forward to returning for more walks and pub visits soon. We’ll see what they inspire.
