I did a Q&A with RT Book Reviews shortly before it ended publication a few yeas ago after a long, stellar run. Here it is, slightly updated:

What was the first book you read that meant something to you?

The Moonspinners by Mary Stewart. I happened on it in the library as a kid, and when I read it, I knew I wanted to be a writer.

What book do you wish you could live in?

I just finished A Country Diary: The Year in Kerry by Patrick O’Sullivan and enjoyed “living in” his descriptions of Irish scenery.

What trope most mirrors your life?

“It seemed like a good idea at the time.” Ah, yes…

If we pulled up next to you at a stoplight, what song would you be shamelessly singing?

“Flannigan’s Ball” by Dropkick Murphys. I’m a runner, and it’s my favorite song when I need a boost on a long run.

If your ghost haunted a place, where would it be?

A ruin on the southwest Irish coast. Note: Hm, maybe I need to amend that and go for someplace indoors. A mansion on the Maine coast, maybe.

Who do you want to hug right now?

My grandchildren. Goes without saying! I have three…a boy and two girls…

What do you do when you’re feeling discouraged?

Book a trip, go for a run, get out the Redbreast 21 – sometimes all of the above!

If you could only vacation at one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?

Ireland. We love it, and it’s easy to get to other places from there if we want to do side trips. I have family in the Netherlands (my father was Dutch), and there’s Paris, Tuscany…lots of places. In the U.S., can’t go wrong with Maine in my world. And I love visiting family in Southern California, particularly in winter, and in Tennessee, particularly in spring.

What’s your favorite thing to do with your spare time?

Hang out with my family. In addition to my grown children and my grandchildren I have six brothers and sisters and my husband has two siblings. Nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. We have fun together!

What’s the last book that you bought?

I just ordered Stella Cameron’s latest Alex Duggins mystery novel set in the English Cotswolds. Update: Love this series!

What’s your favorite fandom?

Just binged-watched Vera. Love her! Strong, smart, doesn’t mince words and a fascinating English setting. I understand she’ll be back for another season. Update: Just watched the last two episodes of the series. Sorry to see it go but great ending.
